Manufacturing & Fair Trade

Dan knows that in order for Michigan to be successful, we have to make things and grow things. That’s why he’s worked to level the playing field for Michigan workers and farmers.

As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, Dan worked with former President Trump to replace and renegotiate NAFTA. Dan supports fair trade, not free trade. He has worked to crack down on the unfair trade practices of other countries, including Mexico and China, that put Michigan workers at a disadvantage.

To boost Michigan manufacturing, Dan has championed “Make it in America’” policies to attract businesses and create good-paying jobs here, not overseas. Working with Republicans and Democrats, he helped pass new laws like CHIPS and Science Act that are already helping to attract new economic investment to mid-Michigan. After this bipartisan bill became law, two companies in our region, SK Siltron and Hemlock Semiconductor, announced they were creating hundreds of new jobs in Saginaw and Bay County.

Dan is proud to be endorsed by labor, farmers and business, including the support of the Michigan Farm Bureau, the AFL-CIO and the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce.
