Dan knows that from a gallon of milk to a gallon of gas, Michigan families and seniors are seeing higher costs due to inflation. That’s why he’s focused on fighting inflation, fixing supply chains and finding ways to lower prices for Michiganders, to give working people a break.

  • To lower gas prices, Dan’s took on members of his own party to suspend the federal gas tax, giving consumers an immediate tax cut at the pump. He’s also pushed the Biden administration to strengthen America’s domestic energy production, including allowing for the year-round sale of ethanol-blended gas.
  • To lower prescription drug prices, Dan passed new laws allowing Medicare to negotiate lower prices with drug companies. He’s also passed new laws to cap the price of insulin at $35 a month for seniors on Medicare, and cap out-of-pocket drug costs for seniors. Dan will continue to stand up to special interests and big pharmaceutical companies, and won’t stop until we can cap the cost of insulin for ALL Michiganders.
  • To lower taxes for middle class families, Dan wrote legislation cutting taxes for working people, and to make sure big corporations pay their fair share. Dan knows that a Midland engineer, Flint carpenter, Saginaw teacher, or Bay City nurse shouldn’t be paying more in taxes than a large corporation making more than $1 billion in annual profits. That’s why Dan passed a new law making the 55 largest corporations, who previously paid ZERO in federal income taxes, pay their fair share. Dan does not support any tax increases for Michigan families making less than $400,000 a year.
